By KAREN I loved that this book is a quick moving read with enough description to be able to picture exactly the look of people and the locations. The main characters are well rounded and leaves wanting to know more. I’m looking forward to a sequel

Tom Clancy Fans Wait No More By Tsunami Connecton Reviewer Author Tom Clancy Fans Wait No MoreNot since reading Clancy's Patriot Games all those years ago have I enjoyed a military thriller like The Gryfalcon File by Chris Roper. I plowed through the book in two sittings. Clancy fans get ready to change allegiance. Roper will blow you away with his detailed knowledge and Google glasses like ratcheted descriptions of unfolding events during a fire fight. His eye for detail roams like a Bertolucci camera scan, taking everything in from top to bottom. Guess what, he does one thing better than Clancy. His women aren't just alluring, they are real. How does The Gryfalcon File stand out? Sure, fast-paced action punctuated by surprising changes of tempo and accompanied by moments of human charm fill out the plot, but what amazes is that the French people act French while the Brits remain phlegmatic. What's to love about the book? The plausible emerging technology stands out but it doesn't trump the humanity of the characters. Anyone who would like a modern day, post cold-war hero polished around the edges to be part Bernard Samson's daring, a smidgen of Michael Caine's poise and loads of Jack Ryan's guts and charisma won't be able to put this thriller down. I couldn't. Pick it up before Random House snaps it out of reach at this price.
