By Isabella Wilson This is not a book that teaches you to make costumes from a commercial pattern, it's a book for those who want to make costumes that are uniquely their own & want to find the possible problems ahead of time.With humor & lots of pictures she points out the rules to keep in mind when designing your costume (1. You need to be able to breathe. 2. You need to be able to eat & drink. 3. You need to be able to use the bathroom.) Sounds obvious but who among us hasn't had a costume that restricts one or all of these things?Go to the Look Inside above & check out the Table of Contents. Patterning, fabric, weaponry, hair & makeup...good stuff here.Lots of great ideas, lots of pictures, lots of fun. Maybe not a book for a beginner or a timid costumer but one they should have on their shelf for later.

Not only dose she help you understand how to make an amazing costume, but even better, HOW TO SURVIVE WEARING IT!!! Nothing was more frustrating for me in my earlier costumes then getting all dressed up and realizing I had to pee. Having to completely strip for basic needs is terrible, made even worse if you need outside help to get dressed/undressed.Tonya's book contains many important tips from material choices to little things that make your life 100% better while in costume. This is a must read for any Cosplayer!

By AmazonCustomer I needed a book to help me with a few cosplay costumes I am making and WOW! All I can say is WOW! This is the only book you need! I was surprised by this book. I have a dozen sewing books and I am a pretty darn good seamstress but this book blew me out of the water. With a fun writing style I found myself nodding my head and laughing out loud at some of the asides in the book. All of the sections were helpful and really made what I would have considered a daunting task, rather easy.Thank you so much for writing this book! I hope you write another one soon!
