About the Author Michael Lauck was born into a land of adventure where his people lived peacefully with dragons until an evil wizard and his robot army destroyed them all. Left alone, Michael grew up among beasts of the wasteland... No, not really. Actually Michael was born and raised in the midwest, where he dreamt of wizards and robots armies and beast filled wastelands. He really grew up watching Star Trek and Space 1999, reading old pulp magazines, practicing magic tricks and drawing. At a very early age he saw Tom Laughlin in Billy Jack and something clicked. A couple of decades later, Michael is taller, teaches kung fu, writes about magic for the website iTricks and still watches Star Trek and Space 1999. He tries his best every single day to be a good husband and father, but still has a tendency to leave Lego sets and half empty cups laying around the house.

The story flows well and you can tell the author not only took his time with detail, but is knowledgable in Gung Fu. I recommend this read to all fans of martial arts, practitioners and those who are just visual fans of the cinema as this could easily be scripted into a movie. I could see this as a Shaw Brothers production.

It has everything you need to stay interested. High level fantasy, with great dialogue and timing. Never boring and I found it very hard to put down. The story revolves around a Grand Tournament devised to decide one winner out of thousands. Descriptive fighting technique, interspersed with a fantastic storyline. This guy can flat out write.
