Mills Overall an exciting and wonderful adventure, from the creation of "Cat's Eye" to the solving her first cases. What I liked best of all, though, was the fact that Gillian seems to be the strongest female hero in any of Mr. Jackson books (all of which are good, fun reads!). Even Solara, whom I like very much, has a weakness in that her alter-ego is so fragile and dependent upon others (I look forward to the day when Heli learns of, and becomes comfortable with, her hero side).Cat's Eye has no male helpers, no male lead holding her hand or picking up after her. While I don't consider myself a feminist by any means, I did find it refreshing to encounter an entirely independent, strong, self-sufficient female lead.The period style in which Mr. Jackson writes is a refreshing break from the violence and sex-filled novels most writers crank out these days.
