From the time you pick it up, until the end, you find yourself mesmerized by the horror some people are capable of inflicting upon these poor innocent dogs, and as painful as it is to read about it, it happens everyday. Thank goodness for the wonderful people who open up their hearts and homes to these pets (who have never asked for anything other than to be taken care of and loved) Author Birgit Stubblefield has spoken to each of the wonderful people involved in the stories, has met their dogs, and knows personally what it is like to have a rescue dog and some of the adjustments both dog and human must make, but the bond formed in the end is all worth it. Also included in this wonderful book are the numerous organizations and the amazing people who volunteer numerous hours of their time to make rescues and adoptions possible. Not only will you experience the genuine warmth and concerns Ms. Stubblefield has for each of those mentioned in book, but portions of the proceeds from the sale of this book are contributed to various shelters. Pay it forward by purchasing this great read, you will be a better person for it, and will be helping to save another life.

Wagner This is the kind of book that grabs hold of your heart in the very first page and does not release you until the last! Author Birgit Stubblefield has composed stories of dogs who have known heartache and yet have found forever homes after being abused. Some of the stories are heart wrenching and difficult to read, but in the end the kindness of humans overcomes the atrocities these dogs have experienced. Big, small, neglected, abused- all these stories are true and told from a compassionate perspective. Plus part of the proceeds of the sale of this book are donated to local rescue organizations. Do yourself a favor in reading the book, and a favor for our furry friends in helping the rescue groups with your donation. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is an animal lover, or even if you want to make a difference in your community. I can't wait for the next book in her series!

What a beautiful heartwarming book for anyone to read By Martha Privett What a beautiful heartwarming book for anyone to read, and not just us animal lovers. When I started reading this book, I could not put it down; this was one of the books that I could not wait to finish. The stories will take you through so many emotions; it is heartwarming, happy, sad but you will hear about those "lucky dogs" who were rescued. Also, this kind author donates proceeds of the sale of her book to rescue dogs. I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful book for anyone to read.
